The Fable of Aunty Mabel. We will use a poem about Aunty Mabel who is a little bit crazy. She likes fixing things in her house, but everything turns into a disaster. There is a song with simple chords for ukulele/guitar, an easy recorder/xylophone part and a “construction-based” ostinato for the children (dig, dig, dig, bang, bang, bang, etc) which can also be played by the children on percussion instruments.
Making Music Without Mayhem Does playing instruments with 3-5 year olds gives you the shivers? Do you grit your teeth, and leap in, with Panadol at the ready? This workshop will give you successful ways to incorporate instruments. . We will stamp, jump, sing and incorporate our senses before moving on to instruments and also share a repertoire of songs to establish music elements.
Celia Stewart
Musical Storytelling Music skills and understandings can all be learned and enhanced through story telling. In this workshop you will gain lots of great ideas about how you can integrate music and storytelling effectively in early childhood and junior classes. As well as incorporating sound effects into favourite stories, we will explore ways the children can create their own musical stories.
