Fraser Bruce – Zimbabwean marimba for the classroom
This workshop will add a new layer to your marimba\xylophone classroom ensembles. Fraser will share some of the Zimbabwean marimba playing techniques he uses. He will help us explore skills and techniques using some simple Zimbabwean songs.
Fraser will create an opportunity to improvise and gather these improvisations into an ensemble piece to play together. Participants will have the joy of playing on one of The Rhythm Centre’s Zimbabwean marimbas – known for their brightness and resonance.
Fraser Bruce, founder of The Rhythm Centre, is well known not only for his drumming workshops for adults and children but also for his beautifully resonant marimbas and Zimbabwean rhythms.
Participating in an ensemble led by Fraser will inspire you for the rest of the year.
