Advanced Studies in Music and Dance Education – Orff-Schulwerk

The Orff Institute, Mozarteum University in Salzburg, Austria offers a graduate course titled Special Course “Advanced Studies in Music and Dance Education – Orff-Schulwerk” on even-numbered years. This course is taught in English and will be held from October 2012 until June 2013. It is offered to teachers of music and dance pedagogy with at least three years teaching experience. Deadline for applications is now April 1st 2012.

The curriculum includes:

• Didactics of Elemental Music and Dance

• Pedagogy and Practice Teaching

• Ensemble and Improvisation

• Composing and Arranging

• Movement/Dance Technique

• Basic Choreography and Improvisation

• Movement Accompaniment

• Music and Dance for Different Age Groups

• Projects in: Movement/Integrating the Arts/ Elemental Music Theater

• Theory and Practice of Instrument Building and others.

TEACHERS are faculty members of the Orff Institute, University Mozarteum, Salzburg along with international guest teachers.

STUDENTS are from all over the world and represent the cultural diversities of their countries and homes.

Orff Finland – XIII International World Village – 1 to 6 August

JaSeSoi ry, Orff-Schulwerk Association of Finland, is pleased to repeat the call to the XIII International World Village 2011 in Finland.  World Village takes place in Valkeala, Finland from 1st until 6th of August, 2011.

World Village presenters 2011 are:

Ms. Maija Karhinen-Ilo, Finland
Ms. Anne Jouhtinen, Finland

All presenters are known nationally and abroad.

The title of the XIII World Village is: “World Village – Musical Well”.

Update – Voices of the Swan, Perth WA, 8 – 13 January 2012.

The countdown to the Orff national conference Voices of the Swan is well
underway and we hope you have it in your diary and have started saving your
pennies! Set aside the dates 8-13 January 2012 – it will be the perfect
opportunity for a Perth holiday!

The conference is being held at Wesley College, a K-12 Uniting Church
school located on a picturesque campus on the southern side of the Swan
River with direct views of the Perth Central Business District. The College
is in the leafy suburb of South Perth and only five minutes from the city.

ECCPA – 15th Early Childhood Conference of Performing Arts (ECCPA)

with special guest presenter Tanya Batt (NZ). The theme is Once Upon A Story ….. A Musical Journey.
In 2011 Tanya Batt (drama specialist) is the Key Presenter. In addition there are over 30 other experts presenting a wide range of ‘hands on’ workshops throughout the weekend. This conference is for pre-school teachers, primary school teachers, caregivers, family day care workers, therapists, parents and anyone interested in working creatively with young children (0-8yrs).
